i post my reply to your reply here since subject has hidden comments and thus I cannot reply to reply.

The fact that you "fully understand" and encourage it is the issue. That in itself is a personal attack on everyone who actually spends time and effort into creating their pieces of art.

But at the same time, you do NOT seem to understand. Here is a case scenario:
In school, you get screwed over because you got busted for plagiarizing a paper, and thus become blacklisted in the entire university network for life. You are not making money from your plagiarized work. So why are you being punished?

On a side note, if you liked the tracings, why not just invest in a computer that can screencap? Or praise the actual artists who drew them in the first place? :/

I am only hostile to those I think deserve it. This is not deviantSPACE or something ridiculous like that. It's deviantART for a reason. Those who are actual artists do not tolerate art theft in any shape or form. Perhaps DA is not for you.

I understand why you are hostile and I'm sorry for making you angry. Honestly. I didn't really think about the fact that it is like plagiarizing, and it is a very valid point. I just think that vectoring is LAZY fanart, and I'm not sure why there is a HUGE issue about it. I do get that it is screen capping so it is the artists original work, but why does it become an issue when they post it to DA? Doesn't that make most fanart stealing? I enjoy some fanarts, but I would agree that sometimes it isn't the right place for it. I love original works far more than anything else, so yes, I would have to say DA is a place for me. I do not do this vectoring or anything else like it. Don't attack me.

Your own works are wonderful and I understand why you are upset with the people who get acknowledged for their laziness and not their creativity. I'm sorry for that. I don't like how if you draw pretty much any character from naruto, bleach, or kingdom hearts, everyone favs it instantly. It gets annoying to always see it on the front page.

I also didn't really mean to encourage it. I just wanted to let them know I liked it too. Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything at all. I did not realize that they WERE doing it for purely page views and that is pretty much disgusting. I'm sorry for not researching this deviant before I wrote to them. I'm not calling her an artist either because most of the work is manipulations and vectors. The fact she hid all the comments too, let me realize she didn't really care about what I had to say anyway.>_>

Thank you for letting me know I was wrong in my thinking and I'm sorry for upsetting you too. I didn't want to start a confrontation in any way. Next time I'll figure out what is going on with the deviant before I 'encourage' anything else.

Again, sorry.

Thanks for understanding, and sorry for acting hostile. I'm never one to try to sugar-coat anything, especially when I disagree with someone. My friends know that, but others get taken aback, I suppose hahahah.

As for fanart, I believe it's protected by the fanart/parody law, as long as the concept/theme/other artistic element itself is 100% original. It isn't like you're taking credit for the characters or calling the anime/game/movie etc. your own. In a way, just stating that it is fanart is a disclaimer.

Thanks again for your reply, and I am glad you understand my view. :)

I had no idea that there was a fanart/parody law either.^^; It's a good thing they do have it though too. Like I said before, I enjoy the fanarts when they are original, but sometimes the vectors have that crisp look. I guess I should separate the vector originals and the screen capping ones.

I've learned a lot from last night and today and I have you to thank. I was taken aback by your non-sugar coating, but I really see your reasons now.:)
